Equipment Operator [Golf Course Maintenance]

Description

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to keep the golf courses in excellent condition, enhancing the guest experience and ensuring the course consistently meets their expectations.

Essential Job Functions

• Set up golf courses for daily and tournament play including changing hole cups, placing tee markers, pins, and hazard stakes, painting hazard and out of bound areas, filling and repairing divots, maintaining sand bunkers.
• Maintain golf course grounds by mowing, edging, blowing leaves and debris, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, and trimming or edging around various areas.
• Operate a variety of groundskeeping equipment including mowers, tractors, blowers, chainsaws, and power tools.
• Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges.
• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
• Haul and spread topsoil or straw.
• Care for artificial and natural turf fields.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
• Use hand tools for various maintenance tasks.
• Provide proper upkeep of cart paths, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other grounds features.
• Maintain and operate power tools and equipment.
• Keep maintenance equipment clean, fueled, oiled, inspected, and stored properly.
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures.
• Maintain irrigation systems.
• Follow landscaping designs and plant various vegetation.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Install and maintain landscaping features.
• Mix and apply fertilizers.

Requirements

• No minimum education required
• This position requires significant physical exertion and endurance.
• Physical ability to:
  • Lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 lbs
  • Operate various power tools and equipment
  • Continuously walk, stand, and work for extended periods
  • Bend, squat, stoop, crouch, and reach
  • Work in extreme weather conditions (outdoors, heat, cold, sun, rain, etc...)
  • Withstand exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and chemicals
  • Climb, balance, and operate machinery involving repetitive motions
• Flexible availability to work a 5-day schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, and subject to post-injury/incident drug testing
