Privately owned, Internal Medical Practice is seeking a compassionate, energetic, board-certified Family, Adult or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner to join their team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player.
Job Description
- Provides primary health care to a patient within the guidelines of written protocols. Follows established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.
- Conducting physical examinations and interpreting medical history
- Treating and helping patients manage acute and chronic illnesses
- Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests
- Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition
- Collaborates with Physicians to prepare comprehensive patient care plans as necessary
- Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment
- Counseling and educating patients
- Responsible for ensuring that all diagnoses ICD10 are coded accurately and documented appropriately to support the diagnosis at that visit
- Function independently and responsibly with minimal need for supervision
- Maintains medical records using EPIC
- Demonstrate initiative in achieving individual, team and organizational goals and objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal candidate:
- Will have clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in geriatric, adult, or family practice settings.
- New Grad NP – Minimum of 3 years RN work experience
- Certified nurse practitioner through ANCC / AANP for adult, family and/or geriatrics
Education :
Master's or Doctorate Degree - Nurse Practitioner Degree
Completion of NP license.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited program as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current active license in the SC state
- Unrestricted DEA (license to prescribe narcotics / level II info here) per state regulations (unless prohibited in state of practice)
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records
- Outstanding organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Initiative, problem-solving ability, adaptability, and flexibility
- Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues as necessary to provide quality care
- Ability to consistently present a friendly, welcoming, and professional public-facing appearance
- Understanding of Geriatrics and Chronic Illness
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner
Board certification by AANP or ANCC, in Adult, Family Practice, and Geriatrics or Adult-Gerontology
South Carolina Controlled Substance License; Federal DEA license
Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License
