What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Specialist position at Palmetto Propane?
We are looking for a Customer Service Team Specialist to join our team! You will work hand in hand with other sales reps and other office staff to promote residential and commercial goods and services. Customer Service Team Specialist will also be responsible for sales of appliances (Inside & Outside) sold in the showroom. Exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone and computer.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service assistance with bill payments, propane orders, and service issues.
- Generate sales in the showroom through a focus on knowledge of the products and understanding of customer needs.
- Open and close the store daily, balancing the cash drawer and taking deposits to the bank.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment including the showroom itself, the bathroom, and storage shelves.
- Manage the inventory of your showroom by entering in new items and verifying items within the showroom.
- Ability through training to refill propane in gas cylinders & RV tanks that can require long periods of standing and weights over 50lbs.
- Assist with call center operations by taking inbound calls for payments, delivery requests, installation requests, service issues, etc.
- Perform other duties/tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Advanced education is a bonus.
- One Must be able to type 60 words per minute.
- Sales and customer service skills are imperative.
- Ability to listen to and understand customer needs and offer informed solutions.
- An outgoing and engaging personality with a strong work ethic is a must.
- Applicants must be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time and lift over 50 pounds repetitiously.
- Strong computer and communication skills are required.
- Must be able to multitask and handle phone calls and customers at the same time.

- This position will commute primarily from the Augusta Showroom to Aiken Showroom multiple days a week.

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer Service Experience- 6months to 1 year
- Call Center Experience- 6months to 1 year
- Sales experience – 6months to 1 year
