Position Overview:
PACHS is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The duties of this mid-level provider are diverse and flexible, in accordance with state and federal law, and performed in collaboration with supervising physicians. You will be responsible for obtaining medical histories, diagnosing, treating patients, and performing various clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Obtain medical histories and conduct physical exams for patients of all ages.

Complete patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and create treatment plans, documenting all information in the patient's chart.

Perform laboratory and related studies in accordance with supervising physician practice.

Carry out therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, suturing, removal of foreign bodies, and more.

Perform office surgical procedures, such as skin biopsies, ingrown toenail removal, and abscess drainage.

Provide care for orthopedic issues, including sprains, strains, dislocations, and fractures.

Screen and perform medical tests such as EKGs, cardiac monitoring, vision screening, and pulmonary function tests.

Instruct and counsel patients on mental and physical health concerns.

Refer patients to specialists when necessary.

Assist in delivering care to patients in nursing homes, homes, or hospitals.

Provide emergency medical evaluations and procedures, ensuring appropriate response to medical emergencies.

Assist in ordering and maintaining equipment, medications, and patient records.

Administer and/or prescribe medications.

Travel to nursing homes and outreach clinics as needed.

Document all patient information accurately and promptly in medical records.
Position Requirements:

Graduate of a CAHEA or ANCC approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Iowa.

National certification required.
-
ACLS, BCLS, CPR, ATLS, NRP certifications.

Previous experience in a family practice office setting preferred.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Ability to adapt to flexible hours and changing healthcare needs.

Strong computer skills and ability to maintain required certifications.
