Job Summary
Responsibilities
Under general direction, to assist in preparing educational materials, may tutor or assist with the instruction of individual students or groups of students under guidelines and supervision provided by the classroom teacher.
Specific Duties Include :
- Assist the classroom teacher in planning course of study and specific lesson plans;
- May tutor individual students or groups of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher;
- Supervise individual students or small groups of students in practice activities such as mathematical and spelling drills;
- Supervise students at assemblies, programs or during trips;
- Auditory and visual monitoring of students both inside the classroom and during outside activities;
- Assist students in reviewing homework assignments and test results;
- Prepare instructional and visual aids including posters, charts and stencils;
- Arrange for and operate audiovisual equipment;
- Order textbooks and supplies and maintains an inventory of essential items;
- May attend meetings relating to curriculum content or student-related problems.
- Other duties as assigned
