This is a great opportunity for an entry-level position into a career in Food & Beverage, leading up to prep and line cook positions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:• Sort, scrape, and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through industrial dishwasher. Ensure proper placement and arrangement for optimal cleaning.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand. • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas.
• Remove trash and deposit in dumpster to maintain cleanliness in kitchen. Sweep up trash around dumpster. • Set up or break down dishwashing area. • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions. • Sweep/mop floors and wipe down surfaces as directed. • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and clean.
Break down boxes as needed.• Monitor dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functioning. Notify Manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures. • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents. Never touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing your hands first.
• Communicate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure efficient flow of dishes and utensils during busy service periods.
