What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Front Desk position at Pampered Pets Veterinary Clinic and Spa?
The Veterinary Receptionist/Lodging Assistant is responsible for customer service, client satisfaction, client education and client flow within the clinic.
Basic Skills and Experience:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential.

- Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities
- One (1) year previous veterinary/front desk experience preferred.
- Must be able to work Saturday hours.
- Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.
- Receive animals to be admitted..
- Release animals to their owners as directed; ensures that every animal released is clean and properly groomed prior to their release, with all belongings they arrived with.
- Has the ability to communicate with owners and make them feel comfortable with leaving their pet(s) in our care.
- Can follow a protocol for cleaning and sanitizing all kennels, runs, yards and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls.
- Can feed each animal as prescribed by the owner and record care.
- Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts.
- Can maintain laundry and dishes for the lodging area.
- Maintains the grounds of the lodging area including waste disposal, light maintenance of landscape upkeep and general building maintenance.
- Can give baths when directed.
- Can give clinic and lodging tours while highlighting features that differentiate us from other kennels and clinics in our area.
- Can recognize and report any unusual condition or abnormal behavior.
- Clean equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; understands the importance of safety of use of chemicals in our facility while following OSHA guidelines.
- Team oriented: Always willing to step up and step in to accomplish daily tasks and goals.
- Performing other duties as assigned required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time and work in an environment with barking dogs.
- Ability to work outside in the heat, cold, or other inclement weather
