Panacea is looking for an intern interested in exploring the principles of New Jersey’s Medicaid and Charity Care Programs and assist management with tasks to implement these principles in relation to how it affects Hospital Finance. The student filling this position will handle a wide range of important duties. This intern will be expected to work part-time, up to 25 hours per week.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Medicaid Eligibility team with follow-up calls and letters as well as data entry
- Assist uninsured individuals to obtain insurance coverage through Medicaid or Charity Care programs
- Assist Medicaid team in completing forms and putting together Medicaid applications to submit for approval to the local Board of Social Services
- Assist Medicaid team with running eligibility checks for Medicaid approved cases
Preferred Qualifications:
- You are completing your undergraduate degree and have an interest in healthcare. Preferred majors include Public Health, Social Services, Finance, Business, and related majors
- You speak Spanish fluently as well as English
- You have excellent communication skills
- You have proficiency in Microsoft applications and web-based applications
- You have attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- You have access to reliable transportation to travel to client sites within the state of NJ occasionally
- You enjoy working in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Intern must be working toward a Bachelor’s degree
