What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. High Intervention Counselor (2025-2026) position at Panama-Buena Vista Union Elementary?
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Principal in the placement of pupils. (Parent conferences, pupil conferences, and achievement testing as appropriate.)
- Provide assistance to teachers in the interpretation of abilities and needs of individual pupils.
- Support teachers in planning and conducting parent-teacher conferences.
- Support the staff in the reinforcement of appropriate school behavior.
- Support teachers in the implementation of AVID.
- Assist the teachers and principal in achieving the optimum placement of students.
- Counsel pupils and their parents on matters relating to school success.
- Coordinate & implement the District Family Life Program.
- Coordinate drug, alcohol & tobacco awareness education programs.
- Support students with course selection and high school, college & career readiness.
- Perform other guidance services as directed by the Principal.
- Assist the Principal and Counselor in planning and conducting in-service education experiences for the staff in the areas of human relations, child growth and development, and guidance functions of the classroom teachers.
- Assist the Principal and Counselor in the coordination of the school's group testing program.
- Other duties as assigned as it pertains to the position
Salary : $94,452 - $114,504
