Job Title: Maintenance Worker

Pay Rate: $15–$20 per hour (DOE)
Position Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker with strong handyman abilities to maintain and improve our shelter facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring our organization runs smoothly, creating a safe and comfortable space for staff, volunteers, visitors, and the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- General Maintenance: Perform routine repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.) to keep buildings and equipment in optimal condition.
- Facility Upkeep: Inspect, identify, and promptly address maintenance issues, ensuring the shelter environment remains clean, safe, and organized.
- Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping, lawn care, and walkways.
- Equipment Management: Keep tools, machinery, and other equipment serviced and well-organized.
- Health & Safety: Follow all relevant safety procedures and codes; promptly report any hazards or potential risks.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the Operations team to coordinate repairs, renovations, and larger projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven handyman or maintenance background; knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, time-management, and communication skills.
- Attitude: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working around cats, dogs, and other animals.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Wage: $15–$20 per hour (depending on experience)
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
