Panorama's Food Services department is hiring for a part-time Cook!
This position will work 32 hours per week and require open availability as scheduled shifts may vary weekly.
This position prepares and cooks meals listed on the Seventeen51 Restaurant and Assisted Living menu as well as special menu meals for catered events and banquets. On occasion, this position may be responsible for preparing menu items for our residents in the Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner in a timely, following outlined recipes, policies and procedures.
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of general-ethnic menu items, following outlined recipes and standard portions. This may include entrees and/or accompaniments in varying quantities as ordered from the restaurant menu, special events and banquets.
- Coordinate final preparation of menu items ordered per table, for timely delivery to diners.
- Operate various kitchen equipment in the preparation of food stuffs and menu items.
- Provide daily supervision and direction to the prep cooks, assisting in the preparation of menu items. Assist in training and cross-trained employees as appropriate.
- Maintain a sanitary and organized environment and follow high sanitation standards.
- Comply with department policies covering all aspects of food service, including policies on safe handling of food, sanitation, and food wastage. Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in Department meetings and work as a member of the team; determine objectives, identify problems, and recognize successes.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and helpfulness to all residents, other workers, potential residents, and the general public as a representative of Panorama.
- High school education or the equivalent is required.
- Formal training in food preparation and cooking is required.
- Valid Washington State Food Handlers permit
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in food preparation and cooking required
- Experience and willingness to perform any function within the food service department up to and including cook is required.
