Responsible for developing and managing risks (threats and opportunities) associated with capital project activities for the NSC M&O Contractor. The position supports project management, collaborates with other subject matter experts, to manage project financial data (e.g., estimates, budgets, Risks, Trends, etc.), to inform senior management and assist with their decision-making.
Utilizes an integrated systematic risk managing process approach to support and encourage a better understanding and application of the risk management process. The resulting efforts are input into estimates, schedules, ROI development, contingency analyses, and lessons learned. Calculates Management Reserve (MR), using quantitative risk assessment tools, for both cost & schedule. Practices standardization of project and risk management strategies and methods to assist the project team.
- Assists the project management team in the discovery, documentation, and management of risks.
- Composes information for all Risks which includes descriptions, impacts and a basis of estimate.
- Facilitates learning opportunities across the project to educate stakeholders on the importance of risk management and the impact it has on project success.
- Applies the company risk management policies and procedures to the project.
- Documents & maintains risks in the approved risk database.
- Prepares risk registers and risk detail sheets to facilitate reviews.
- Ensures that discrete, in-scope handling plan actions are incorporated into the project baseline.
- Uses the resulting efforts, from estimates, schedules, handling plan response actions, contingency analyses, to prepare qualitative & quantitative analysis.
- Uses Quantitative Risk Assessment tools to inform Management Reserve (MR) estimates for both cost & schedule.
- Prepares reports and metrics for stakeholders and company leadership to communicate project risk performance and health and to aid in decision making.

- Eight or more yearsof education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
- At least two years of relevant experience
- Professional experience in a field related to the performance of construction projects or construction projects management.
- Knowledge of Project Management or the Acquisition of Capital Assets
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable project management processes and control systems.
- Knowledge of project risk identification and management practices.
- Working knowledge of analytical problem-solving techniques and project management software applications
- Working knowledge of the software application Active Risk Manager (ARM) and/or Acumen Risk.
