Production Driver

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires operating various types of vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to tractor-trailers, fork lift, gate lift, pallet jacks and hand dolly, while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. The Driver will play a crucial role in our logistics operations by loading, unloading, and delivering freight to designated locations.

Responsibilities

• Our driver will get behind the wheel of a 26-foot, business class, 2019 Freightliner M2
• Operate heavy equipment such as tractor-trailers, forklift, pallet jack, gate lift and hand dolly as required
• Load and unload freight securely to prevent damage during transport
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to clients while adhering to scheduled routes
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport
• Assist in warehouse and work center jockey duties as needed to organize vehicles and freight within the warehouse

Qualifications

• History of driving larger, non-CDL vehicles
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as fork lift and pallet jack preferred
• Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols
• Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Previous experience in a driving or logistics role is an advantage but not mandatory

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
