What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roof Bolter Operator position at Panther Creek Mining?
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.
Responsible for assessing conditions encountered during mining and taking appropriate action during the roof bolting cycle; scaling top rock and ribs as conditions warrant; know when supplemental support is needed; know and follow proper bolt sequence according to the approved Roof Control Plan
1. Maintain proper face ventilation both permanent and temporary controls.
2. Load and unload materials and supplies as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Understanding of section ventilation and cable handling procedures.
2. Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
This position requires the operator to possess the dexterity to work and operate machinery and equipment in a coal seam height that varies. The operator must constantly be attentive to the changing geological conditions and surrounding environment.
Education, Qualifications and Training:
1. Underground coal miner's certificate
2. Annual 8-hour refresher training
3. On-the-job experience
4. Vocational Training (optional)
5. Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management
