Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The Delivery Driver will operate a variety of vehicles, including vans and box trucks, and may be required to use equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks, while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transport.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading goods.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems is advantageous.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to driving and handling goods is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
