The Utility Coordinator will play a vital role in coordinating utility relocation projects, ensuring seamless collaboration among various stakeholders and the efficient execution of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate utility adjustment processes for roadway projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines.
- Identify utility owners and locate utilities within project boundaries using advanced methods and technologies.
- Collaborate with senior staff to coordinate the relocation and installation of private and public utility systems, including electric, pipelines, telecommunication, water, sewer, and drainage.
- Assist in design activities by attending meetings, reviewing documents, coordinating activities, facilitating site visits, and verifying property interests.
- Provide accurate estimates for utility relocation costs and assist in preparing utility agreements.
- Monitor the progress of relocation efforts, including obtaining necessary permits and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Verify the accuracy of Record (as-built) drawings to maintain project integrity and documentation standards.
- Conduct research on prior rights issues and franchise agreement matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in utility design, utility coordination, and roadway design.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with project teams, clients, and utility owners.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation, Excel, and Microsoft Project (or similar software).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to utility coordination and roadway projects.
- Must be able to work 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday with overtime, as needed.
