Our goal is to provide the highest quality surveys and engineering designs while also meeting the needs and goals of our clients. We are seeking a new team member to work in our Alpharetta, Georgia, office to help expedite property research and development permitting.
Role
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating permitting efforts for ongoing land development projects in the Metro Atlanta area and throughout the State. The position will involve online research to determine local permitting processes and timelines, meeting in person with review staff, tracking status and schedules for multiple projects, and coordination with clients. Additionally, this position will have a secondary responsibility to perform property research and due diligence to aid the Client in evaluating the suitability of a tract.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and submission of complex permit applications, including resolving any deficiencies with regulatory agencies
- Develop detailed project and permitting schedules and work with engineering design teams to ensure they are informed about deadlines and milestones
- Interact with clients as needed on the status of permit applications and any changes to the timeline
- Coordinate directly with municipal staff reviewers on routine permitting matters, including compliance issues and zoning clarifications
- Conduct in-depth research on zoning laws, environmental regulations, and site constraints to inform project feasibility
- Prepare comprehensive due diligence reports for clients and design teams, covering all relevant regulatory concerns, schedules, and utility information.
- Collaborate with senior staff to review due diligence reports for accuracy before submission to clients
- Ensure that the code research findings are integrated into project designs and permitting strategies
- Attending meetings with municipal staff at various stages of the land development process
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, municipal staff, and local agencies
- Additional related duties as needed
- 3 years of relevant experience with zoning research, land use regulations, and permitting processes
- Familiarity with the land development process
- Proficiency in preparing due diligence reports, including research on utilities, fees, and regulatory concerns
- Strong proficiency in project management software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Skills in writing comprehensive reports and documenting findings clearly
- Strong communication, organization and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external teams
