Summary
The Maintenance Associate ensures that spare parts are made available for each preventative and corrective work order. This position initiates the processing of incoming quotes, employee requests for shop materials, PM checklists and equipment
Responsibilities
- Acts as a liaison and expediter for the Maintenance Department, Engineering department to ensure timely deliveries from vendors and or contractors.
- Coordinate all aspects of MRO/indirect purchasing and distribution while considering cost-effective solutions.
- Creates and monitors purchase orders for accuracy and compliance, when required.
- Requests and receives price quotes from vendors, when required.
- Compares quotes against requirements and the budget, and purchase orders via fax or computer.
- Performs purchasing functions as required.
- Reconciles purchase orders, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
- Works with vendors and the AP department to ensure receipts and payments are processed accurately.
- Routinely reconciles MRO reports.
- Manages and maintains MRO inventory levels.
- Performs inventory reviews, cycle counts and other activities with emphasis on inventory control and cost objectives.
- Responsible for spare parts maintenance, including EAM system settings and usage.
- Collaborates with other facilities to ensure corporate standardization occurs with vendors supplying MRO inventory, general production supplies, and/or facility services.
- Exercises judgment, integrity, and prudence for purchasing and working with vendors/suppliers.
- Attends daily the Operational and Maintenance meeting when required or instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Communicates, internally and externally, in a professional manner.
- Assists the maintenance planner with Daily P-Matrix meeting and schedules all the parts required for the work orders using EAM.
Performs other duties as directed by Management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong mechanical background, including electrical, electronic and mechanic.
- Working knowledge of gas and electrical welding lathe, drill press, etc.
- Working knowledge of all phases of building, grounds maintenance.
- Strong mathematical, computer and reading skills.
Must possess a positive attitude.
