Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable-Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Duties
- Performs data entry and spreadsheet management.
- Posts customer payments by recording cash, check, and credit card transactions.
- Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, and customer service.
- Assists with monthly closings, journal entries, and bank statement reconciliation.
- Participate in year-end audit as needed.
- Assists with related special projects as needed.
- Protect and keep all information confidential.
- Help identify bottlenecks in AR process
- Update accounting manuals, when appropriate
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
· A/P and A/R experience
· Microsoft Office experience – Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Ability to resolve vendor issues – must be persistent and creative to avoid long and inefficient delays in finding solutions
· Problem solving experience with minimal guidance – on occasion, new problems arise with no prior history of the issue, you will need to think through and formulate a plan to resolve the problem
· Multi tasker – have the mindset that when waiting for an answer to pickup and start another task/project while you are waiting for an answer.
· Experience with prioritizing, understand the difference from what needs to get done from what has to get done. Example: month end, bank reconciliations and closing account payable need to get done, but usually, closing accounts payable has to get done first – other people are waiting for that to close before they can proceed with their month end duties.
· Should be flexible and willing to help others as needed
· Minimum Associates degree in Accounting/Business education, or 3-5 years of Accounting Clerk experience, with yearend experience and an understanding of Accounting terminology
· Possess a high degree of accuracy and great organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
