Medical Assistant/Front Office Receptionist, Medi-Cal
Position Summary
The front desk receptionist provides administrative support to patients, clinical staff, and providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, triaging incoming calls, updating / verifying patient demographics, eligibility, scheduling new/missed appointments. This is a hybrid position as a Medical Assistant, back office experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients, maintains a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Verifies patient information and insurance eligibility.
- Assists patients to complete forms and process patient-related paperwork.
- Makes follow-up appointments and confirm future appointments.
- Vital patients and documents in EMR (NextGen).
- Reschedule bumped appointments.
- Perform additional duties if necessary.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of MediCal requirements.
- Understands Health Plan / IPA eligibility requirements.
- Can multitask under pressure.
- Able to lift to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds on wheels.
- Able to bend, stoop, walk, stand as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic life support certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to provide patient care and services
- Familiarity with intake procedures and vital signs measurement
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
