We are seeking a Vocational Case Manager (VCM) to support the Vocational Recovery Services program which includes Transitional Return to work (TRTW), Job Placement Services, as well as Vocational Assessments. This role works closely with the injured person, the claim’s examiner, employer, attorneys (plaintiff and defense) and medical providers with the objective to assist injured workers/consumers in their recovery process and returning to work at the highest level of function as possible. Services may be rehabilitative or consultative. Position is fully remote.

Responsibilities:
- Accepts cases for referral and management in accordance with Vocational Recovery standards and established caseload.
- Counsel, direct and motivate consumers to reach their highest level of function.
- Establishes relationships and maintains communications with consumers, claims professionals, employers and medical providers. Ensures that all communication is culturally sensitive and meets requirements to maintain injured worker confidentiality.
- Completes accurate and timely written reports in accordance with Paradigm documentation standards.
- Ensures that case management plan is implemented, and appropriate vocational recovery services are provided. Documents progress towards achievement of case management intervention and evaluate progress on an ongoing basis, modifying the case management plan if indicated.
- May monitor return to work progress to ensure successful return to work outcome.
- May complete Vocational Assessments by gathering and analyzing medical, social, economic, education, employment history, work capabilities, transferable skills, and labor market information.
- May develops knowledge of current job market to identify alternative placements.
- May complete vocational testing, score testing and interpret results.
- May develop Rehabilitation Plan/Case Management Plan specific to client for success in overcoming barriers and re-entry to the workforce.
- May complete Labor market surveys.
- May provide job-seeking skill training and coaching including resume development and interview training.
- May provide job development and job placement services.
- May provide loss of earning | wage loss opinions.
- May provide expert testimony.
- May identify and place clients in transitional work opportunities.
- Provide ongoing support and counseling to the client.
- Maintains required timely communication and updates to all required parties involved with the client providing progress, status, barriers, and action plans.
- Complete forms according to jurisdictional and/or industry requirements and follows.
- Required to prepare organized reports within a specified timeframe, per account guidelines documenting activities, efforts, and progress.
- Document all case activity in files.
- Complete ongoing educational requirements as required by certifying bodies.
- Attend staff meetings and/or team calls.
- Participate in marketing or customer facing events or meetings.
- Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling preferred or similar.
- Required to have a minimum of one national board certification at time of hire: LRC, CRC, CDMS, or CVE.
- Must meet state jurisdictional eligibility requirements for performing the duties of a vocational case manager.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation preferred.
- Knowledgeable of state and local regulations preferred.
- Effective multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical and mental injury or illness, and for career counseling and guidance
- Ability to interface professionally with claims staff, clients, employers, attorneys, physicians and their representatives, and advisors and coworkers.
