JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the management of a lean Information Technology Department within a multi-state enterprise Healthcare industry organization. Establishes overall direction and goals, ensures the quality of infrastructure services delivered system wide is maintained at acceptable levels, manages support ticket response and escalations, protects the enterprise from cyber threats and manages incidence response, plans for future growth and potential need for disaster recovery. Directs department efforts to plan projects and provide cost effective, computer-based systems and services that support the system mission, vision, and strategic plan.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develops, implements and maintains processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of reliable, highly available, and secure network communications, storage, and computing resources.
- Ensures appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard those systems, including but not limited to digital files and vital electronic infrastructure, and responds to computer security breaches and viruses.
- Leads IT operations to establish and maintain efficient distribution of responsibilities, ensures that projects are adequately staffed and are meeting established deadlines and budget, incident reports are responded to and resolved in a timely manner, and new project and resource requests are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Oversees procedure documentation and change management processes for IT Infrastructure systems.
- Ensures all IT security standards are reviewed regularly, and deficiencies are remediated. Ensures security training is current for all staff.
- In partnership with senior management, establishes priorities of IT objectives and tasks.
- Evaluates requests for IT infrastructure enhancements and provides cost estimates and timelines for completion.
- Manages efforts for the implementation of information technology and communications systems.
- Monitors all projects, provides periodic status reports and manages successful completion within established timeline and budget.
- Oversees development of IT policies, procedures and service level agreements.
- Ensures all IT equipment and applications promote efficiency and patient safety, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Prepares the department capital and operating budgets.
- Provides leadership in developing and maintaining long range strategic and tactical information technology plans in support of the corporate mission, vision, and business strategies and promotes operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provides leadership and guidance to support IT staff in all activities required to carry out the IT strategic and long-range plans in an efficient and effective manner.
- Develops strong professional relationships with physicians, administrators, peer managers, supervisors, staff, and vendors to ensure key stakeholders, business partners and customers are aligned.
- Communicates and consults regularly with the Director of Clinical Information Systems, to ensure operational requirements are being met.
- Works in conjunction with Human Resources in interviewing, training, on boarding, transfers, promotions and employee relations concerns.
