We are looking for a dedicated and personable professional to join our team as a VA Verification Coordinator. This position will primarily focus on managing Veterans Administration (VA) referrals, which includes obtaining authorizations and maintaining strong communications with VA contacts to ensure a smooth process and continued growth of referrals. In addition to VA-specific responsibilities, this role will cross-train in other areas of insurance authorization and assist with the following duties:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- VA Referral Management: Obtain benefits and follow the insurance authorization process for VA referrals through HRSM, Availity, and other relevant platforms. Build and maintain strong relationships with VA contacts to ensure timely and efficient referral processing, while contributing to referral growth over time.
- CrossTraining and Insurance Authorization: Assist with obtaining eligibility and authorization for other insurance plans within the company as needed.
- EMR Updates: Maintain accurate and uptodate authorization dates and insurance information in WellSky/Kinnser (EMR).
- Patient Communication: Contact patients to explain their benefits, discuss financial responsibilities, and collect payments as required.
- Adhoc Clerical Tasks: Assist with other clerical tasks as needed to support team operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
- One year experience in a healthcare setting required, with insurance/authorization experience. Home health experience preferred.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in the workplace.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with strong relationshipbuilding skills.
- Ability to function well in a highpaced and potentially stressful environment.
