What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Baker/Pastry Chef position at Paradiso?
Exxir Hospitality is looking to add a talented Baker and Pastry Sous Chef to our team at Paradiso in the Bishop Arts District as we gear up for the busy season and a new restaurant opening right around the corner!
Paradiso is a coastal, southern European inspired casual fine dining restaurant that does incredible volume while still maintaining high standards. Our beautiful green house-like restaurant has been busy since day one and we're looking to hire someone who can help us maintain our standards and grow with us as we explore new heights.
If you join us, you'll be responsible for:
- Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests and to the standards of our Executive Chef in a timely manner
- Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions to ensure accuracy of recipes
- Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
- Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
- Managing the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
- Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
- Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in baking and pastry preparation
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on food handling and kitchen operations
- Proven customer service abilities in a food industry setting
- Proficient in cake decorating and food production techniques
- Background in catering and restaurant environments
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
