Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess or be actively pursuing a degree or certifications in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field (e.g., CompTIA). A strong interest in learning about home automation, network configurations, lighting control, and audio/video technologies is essential.
Initially, the successful candidate will work as part of a team and undergo training, but the role will evolve to require the ability to work independently. The role demands exceptional customer service skills and a customer-focused mindset, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about learning new technologies and working in a dynamic environment.
This position involves providing both remote technical support and on-site field support for a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for both business and residential clients.
- Terminate network cables (Cat5/Cat6) and potentially fiber cables.
- Assist in network system administration for both business and residential clients.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve system issues.
- Maintain clear and detailed logs and documentation of activities.
- Support audio/video and home theater installations.
- Install and support camera systems.
- Perform physical tasks, including but not limited to standing, sitting, walking, climbing, working in confined spaces (e.g., attics), using ladders, and lifting heavy equipment.
- Work regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with occasional Saturday shifts (no more than once per month).
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications (e.g., CompTIA) preferred.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN network environments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Quick learner, able to take on new responsibilities and challenges.
- Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Clean criminal background.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
