Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of low voltage systems, including surveillance and electrical installations. This role involves working in various environments, utilizing hand tools and equipment to install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, structured cabling, and network cabinets.
- Read and interpret schematics and system designs to ensure accurate installation.
- Utilize hand tools and field service equipment to perform installations and repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections of installed systems to ensure functionality and compliance with NEC standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to complete projects efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding system performance.
- Document all work performed, including changes made to system designs or installations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician in the field of electrical or computer hardware installation.
- Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety standards related to low voltage systems.
- Experience in reading schematics and system design documentation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and field service equipment effectively.
- Certification in low voltage systems or related fields is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of low-voltage technology.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Experience with fiber optic cabling and terminations.
- Knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
