The Commercial Roofing Service Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing roofing service crews in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial roofing systems. This position requires leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities : Crew Supervision & Leadership : Lead, manage, and coordinate service crews to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely. Train and mentor team members on best practices, safety protocols, and roofing techniques. Assign tasks to crew members and monitor progress. Roofing Installation, Repair & Maintenance : Perform and oversee commercial roofing repairs, maintenance, and inspections. Work with various roofing materials such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, and metal. Identify roof leaks and determine the best repair solutions. Safety & Compliance : Enforce company and OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify and mitigate potential hazards on job sites. Project Coordination & Communication : Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and team members. Document job progress, material usage, and project completion details. Ensure service work is completed on time and meets quality standards. Equipment & Material Management : Ensure proper use and maintenance of roofing tools and equipment. Manage inventory and order necessary materials for service projects. Ensure vehicles and tools are properly maintained and stocked. Qualifications & Requirements : Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of commercial roofing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Technical Skills : Expertise in roofing systems including single-ply membranes, built-up roofing (BUR), modified bitumen, coatings, and metal roofing. Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and endure exposure to various weather conditions. Certifications : OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred; manufacturer certifications are a plus. Licensing : A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Soft Skills : Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Work Environment : Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
