What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Paragon Structural Engineering?
Our growing structural engineering firm, based in Plano, is seeking a full-time professional with the energy and talent to enhance the firm’s effectiveness by providing project management and administrative support to the team. A successful candidate will represent the firm to clients over the phone, email, and in person, as well as assisting in the creation of improved processes for both the administrative team and project tracking purposes. This position requires a very detailed and organized approach to many on-going projects and assignments handled each day by our office. We can readily expand this position to include additional responsibilities and higher visibility tasks if the candidate presents a strong work history and skill set.
Direct Responsibilities
- Managing project timelines and resources by utilizing existing reports and data
- Track, communicate and analyze budgets for multiple projects across various disciplines
- Assisting with the creation of a new system that incorporates project management tools
- Assisting with SOP creation and general office projects and procedures
- Create new reports utilizing existing data to better track project activities and trends
- Communicate with department heads to assess current and projected workload and distribution
- Providing administrative support to managers, engineers, and technical staff in a detailed and organized manner
- Conserving PE’s time by managing in-bound telephone calls and routing accordingly; drafting letters and documents
- Maintaining multiple calendars by scheduling projects, investigations, reviews, meetings, teleconferences, conferences, and travel
- Creating and/or managing special projects as needed (career fairs, seminars, etc.)
- Providing information by answering client questions and requests
- Communicating statuses, identifying and relaying issues to management on a regular basis
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- BA/BS College Degree Minimum
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience in an engineering or construction environment, while possibly helpful, is not required, as several of our successful support administrators have no prior experience in these areas. Experience working with a legal firm or in a legal atmosphere is a strong positive for candidates to better serve our Forensic engineers. We are a high computer-use office, so being comfortable and skilled at general computer, phone, and tablet use really sets you up for success. Some months are busier than others, so successfully managing a fluctuating workload, while staying organized, is a must to help us meet our client’s deadlines.
