Job Type: Full-time
Performs the following duties and other required activities, as assigned.
Performs visual and dimensional inspection on a wide variety of molded and extruded plastic parts, and hardware that is produced in-house and supplied by vendors.
NOTE: Ability to accurately measure part tolerances/significant familiarity with GD&T is a KEY ELEMENT for this role.
Determines product quality and acceptability of inspected items by carefully checking inspection results against the requirements of specifications and/or standards using precision measuring instruments as required.
Must be able to independently use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, surface plate, height gage, pin and thread gages, and have VMM & CMM experience.
Must be able to interpret routings, specifications, inspection plans, drawings, work instructions and similar documents to determine proper inspection.
Must have excellent written communication skills to clearly document findings during an inspection.
Must be able to cooperate with fellow quality control personnel to combine information and techniques to advance the overall quality goals.
Must have experience with print reading, GD&T, knowledge and experience performing detailed First Article Inspections to customer drawings, purchase orders and specifications.
Must demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, technical ability and organizational skills.
Must have 1-2 years of performing inspections to engineering drawings.
Must have significant knowledge of GD&T
Desired but Not Required Skills:
Experience/knowledge with performing non-conformance/corrective action reports, root cause analysis, action plans, implementation and verification
Experience with non-destructive testing, Microsoft Office suite, familiarity with military specifications, plastics knowledge, ability to work under minimum supervision, MFI testing, Jobboss, Micro-Vu, Inspection reports using AS9100 format
ISO maintenance experience a plus, particularly 13485 and AS9100
