Position Overview:

Parasol Group is seeking a highly experienced Director of Finance & Accounting to oversee all financial operations, tax compliance, payroll, and accounts payable functions. This role is a key leadership position responsible for financial strategy, reporting, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a strong background in tax accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial planning & analysis.

This Finance & Accounting position will provide hands-on leadership in the day-to-day financial operations, collaborating with department heads and executive leadership to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Strategy

  • Develop and execute financial strategies to support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Provide insights on cash flow management, working capital optimization, and financial risk mitigation.
  • Ensure proper financial controls and compliance with internal policies, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

Tax & Compliance

  • Oversee corporate tax planning and compliance, ensuring accurate reporting and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Manage relationships with tax advisors and regulatory bodies to mitigate tax risks and optimize tax strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments to minimize tax liabilities.

Payroll & Accounts Payable

  • Supervise payroll processing, ensuring compliance with wage laws, benefits administration, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendors, employees, and contractors while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Oversee payroll-related audits, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Ensure the timely closing of financial statements and present findings to executive leadership.
  • Lead internal audits and financial reconciliations to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants to ensure smooth financial operations.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the finance & accounting team, ensuring strong financial discipline across the organization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and decision-making support.
  • Develop and implement best practices for finance and accounting operations, enhancing efficiency and automation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and tax compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s/MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Strong expertise in tax accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing corporate tax filings, audits, and payroll systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, and financial modeling tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
