Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Senior Program Manager, the Adult Day Training Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising the Direct Support Professionals assigned, monitoring the quality of programming provided to participants, coaching direct reports, and ensuring meaningful activities and community experiences are offered each day.
The Adult Day Training Supervisor should possess the capacity to coach and mentor direct reports and provide constructive feedback to team members. This employee should understand the operations and expectations of Waiver funded programs, licensing requirements, and quality programming.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and direction to the assigned direct care team members of 10-15 DSP’s.
- Ensures the overall health and safety for all individuals in the program and addresses any safety or maintenance concerns promptly. Completes maintenance requests as needed and addresses immediate safety concerns promptly.
- Monitors the level and quality of the engagement DSP’s have with assigned group, ensuring active treatment meets expectations and that downtime is limited.
- Monitors and observes performance of all assigned direct care team members and provides feedback to employees as needed both formally and informally and submits formal observation forms to Senior Manager.
- Ensure DSP’s have tools and equipment necessary to perform work, follow purchasing request process for needed items.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and contributes to the planning of in-service day agendas and CEU training based on identified programmatic needs.
- Takes rotating on-call responsibility to manage scheduling issues, call offs and staffing needs.
- As assigned, assumes responsibility for the daily operations of the Adult Day Program in the absence of the Senior Manager.
- Creates a structured plan and schedule for daily activities; assists Direct Care and Instructional Support team members in implementation.
- Participates in Support Plan meetings and interfaces with support coordinators.
- Monitors and addresses all program documentation needs including incident reporting accuracy, participant attendance, goal documentation, etc. as required.
- Ensures that the vocational and non-vocational needs of the participants are being met.
- Coordinates with a wide range of resources, both internally and externally, to provide meaningful services and activities for assigned program participants.
- Provides daily assistance to clients in areas such as physical care, behavioral support, toileting, meal preparation, feeding, medication administration, mobility and other daily activities as required.
- Provide crisis management and intervention as needed.
- Acts as a positive role-model and clearly communicates with other team members as well as motivates and recognizes employee accomplishments.
- Provide job development/placement guidance and support for paid and volunteer work activities to assigned program participant(s) as needed.
- Monitors adherence of assigned DSPs to Parc policy and procedures, monitors attendance, addresses any disciplinary needs, and performance appraisals in conjunction with Senior Manager.
- Addresses PTO/Time Off requests of assigned DSPs with Senior Manager
- Addresses any employee concerns and discusses with Senior Manager.
- Partners with Senior Manager to interview prospective new DSP’s.
- Ensures all assigned DSP’s have completed daily activity schedules, that they are followed, and that activities are appropriate for the assigned group.
- Responsible for the onboarding and training of new DSP’s, as well as on-going coaching, upskilling, and support of assigned DSP’s. Complete 30-60-90 reviews with Senior Manager.
- Monitors documentation required of assigned DSP’s in Therap and iConnect on a weekly basis and ensures missing documentation is addressed with responsible DSP.
- Monitors training compliance and training needs of assigned DSP’s, ensuring adequate floor coverage for scheduled training of DSP’s.
- Reports potential training non-compliance to Senior manager and problem-solves to ensure DSP’s remain training compliant.
- Coordinates the scheduling and execution of activities and outings with Recreation/Activities Coordinator.
- Coordinates with internal and external partners to develop, implement, and execute art classes, production, LSD 4 opportunities, etc. as appropriate for assigned DSP’s and participants.
- Monitors condition of furniture, equipment, adaptive equipment, dining equipment, and program areas, addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensures program space is clean and orderly throughout the day and before DSP’s leave shift each day. Monitor end of day DSP cleaning and chore list completion in each area of assigned DSP’s. Addresses organization and cleanliness issues as they arise.
Requirements
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Drivers’ License with acceptable driving record.
- Be physically, visually, and auditorily aware of the cognitive, social, and physical needs of our participants.
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- 3 years of experience working with persons who have developmental disabilities preferred.
- 1-year of experience leading direct care employees.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A heart for people first and foremost.
- Have a learning attitude and natural curiosity for how things work, with a desire to improve processes and procedures without judgement for how things were done in the past.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and safety precautions.
- Physical demands such as repetitive motion, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting for extended periods of time.
- Able to safely lift to 50 pounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other electronic tools preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicaid laws and ensures compliance with all such regulations.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of the legal rights of program participants.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of unpredictable situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as handbooks, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to generate reports as needed.
- Ability to operate general office equipment, cell phones, basic computer operation/literacy.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong time management skills.
Schedule:
- Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am – 4:00pm. Your schedule may vary depending on business needs and other factors.
- This is an on-site role.
