Rehabilitation Aide
Under the direction of the Therapist and rehabilitation staff, the Rehabilitation Aide assists therapists in a non-clinical capacity to support the efficient operation of the rehabilitation department. The Aide must demonstrate competency in skills and techniques, as taught by the Rehabilitation Department, to assist therapy staff in their daily responsibilities.
Schedule:
- Sunday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Monday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
You will be required to travel to our other Brooklyn clinic at least once a week.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Monitor patients during exercise routines to ensure safety.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of treatment areas.
- Clean and distribute therapy equipment such as wheelchairs and canes.
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on equipment; report malfunctions to the Rehab Director promptly.
- Perform clerical duties, including copying, faxing, filing, answering phones, and distributing therapy-related information.
- Copy and file therapy documents as needed.
- Monitor therapy supply levels and coordinate equipment maintenance.
- Fax or email equipment orders for patients being discharged.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
- Escort or transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate.
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with staff to accomplish departmental goals.
- Foster a work environment that promotes cooperation, respect, and teamwork.
- Provide courteous and professional support to patients, families, and staff.
- Attend and participate in all required and mandatory in-service educational programs and on-the-job training sessions.
- Take initiative, follow instructions, and complete assignments independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of EMR systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair or stretcher.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Basic computer skills, including EMR familiarity.
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
