Summary:
Seeking a dynamic sales leader in the Food Industry to drive profitable growth with a privately-owned frozen food family of companies. The sales leader will drive sales growth, foster client relationships, and partner to align the broader company objectives with the sales strategy. In collaboration with the President and the wider leadership team, this role ensures a unified sales approach and optimized revenue generation across segments. Provides clear direction and training to sales team to build a high-performance team that increases sales revenues in current and expanded markets.
Specific Responsibilities of the Position:
Strategic Sales Leadership: Proven success in leading and motivating a high-performance sales team to achieve targets and foster a winning culture.
- Collaborates with the President and executive leadership to identify strategies, new markets, company’s offerings, services, features, and action plans to improve value proposition.
- Develops strategies that align with business objectives and specific plans to ensure revenue growth and short- and long-term sales and earnings.
- Builds relationships with customers’ executive leadership and industry stakeholders to maintain knowledge of industry trends.
- Provides direction for development of effective customer communications.
- Coordinates company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
- Formulates all sales policies, practices and procedures.
Team Development & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team to drive performance. Conduct regular coaching sessions and provide feedback to ensure ongoing skill development.
- Manages personnel and develops sales and sales operations.
- Establishes and manages effective programs to provide direction setting, metrics, coaching, and skills development of sales personnel.
- Supports and directs sales activities on major accounts and negotiates sales price and discounts with input from Purchasing and in consultation with the President.
- Educates sales team on both hard and soft skills needed in each phase of the sales funnel, internal communication, and understanding of services and expenses on contracts.
Performance Monitoring: Assess sales team results and productivity, providing feedback to ensure goals are met and opportunities for improvement are addressed.
- Track and analyze sales metrics, ensuring both business units meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide regular sales performance reports to the President and other stakeholders.
- Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams. Interprets short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit.
- Hold regular meetings with sales staff, provide coaching individually at regular intervals.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in selling edible commodities is highly desirable.
- Proven success and results in leading an engaged sales organization to achieve sales targets and drive growth is required.
- Highly effective written and verbal communicator to customers, management, and team, must be able to clearly and effectively read, write and communicate in English.
- Analytical skills for accurate performance analysis, marketplace opportunity scaling, and software skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and CRM).
- Must be able to effectively train new and existing employees in successful sales techniques.
- Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies
- Exceptional negotiation skills and client relationship management experience.

Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred, or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of sales leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
- Strong interpersonal and team management skills.

General demands of an office environment, prolonged sitting.
Location & Travel:
Based out of Trappe, MD; Open to on-site or hybrid. Highly desirable to be located within 3-hour drive.
Travel typically less than 30%
GMP Requirements:
When on-site at company or customer facilities: follows all provisions of Paris Foods GMP, Food Safety and Food Defense procedures and processes. Takes ownership of their role in the company’s GMP, Food Safety and Food Defense Programs by identifying and elevating any observations in violation of the policies.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
