Paralegal (Legal) - Labor Grade 116 / Pay Range: $51,605.30 - $72,751.66
SUMMARY
The Paralegal works under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer. The Paralegal is responsiblefor performing a variety of complex and highly responsible paralegal and administrative duties.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Conducts activities associated with processing contracts including processing new and renewal contracts from bid acceptance through substantial completion, drafting and gaining approval, mailing, and emailing vendor and contractor follow up, gaining president’s signature for approval, and filing hard and electronic copies
· Drafts ordinances and resolutions for approval by legal council
· Assists other departments with any legal questions or opinions regarding contracts
· Assists parish attorney by drafting documents, researching, and scheduling
· Any other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Experience: An associate degree in a related field from an accredited two-year community or junior college or one (1) year of directly related experience working as a Paralegal with a licensed attorney, law firm or court
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, or REGISTRATIONS
· The incumbent is subject to a pre-employment physical and drug test with random drug testing thereafter
