What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Front Desk Assistant (Pop-up Location) position at Park-9 Dog Bar?
Park-9 Dog Bar is planning to open its seasonal pop-up location in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston for its second year (pending City approval). Reporting to the Assistant Venue Manager,Park-9 Front Desk Attendant who will welcome both our human and canine customers to our space, answering questions giving directions, but primarily will ensure that vaccination and medical records are complete in order for the dog to enter. In addition, he/she will charge and collect the required fee. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent customer service skills, ability to remain calm in a very busy atmosphere, and strong computer skills. We do require a positive attitude, outgoing personality, dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our clientele, and, of course, a love of dogs.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide the initial welcome to our canine and human guests
- Confirm that the dog has a complete record of all medical requirements; accurately enter any additional information
- Limit entrance to only those dogs meeting all requirements, and explain clearly to the pet parent what information is missing and different options of how to gather and enter the information
- Charge and collect entrance fee for dog
- Answer questions from guests about the different spaces available, directions, parking
- Provide administrative assistance to managers and colleagues as requested
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum of 1 year experience of office support or receptionist duties
- High School graduate or GED required
- Demonstrated excellence in Customer Service
- Strong computer experience (Word, Excel); ability to learn new programs
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate data entry
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and handle stress.
- Able to work in a bar atmosphere, loud sounds, and warehouse conditions
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
