Admissions Director
The primary purpose of this position is to obtain required information and admit residents in an efficient manner in accordance with established facility policies and procedures and as directed by your supervisor. Respond to requests for medical record information by insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Administration (VA) or healthcare providers as authorized and in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy and security requirements.
- Greeting and assisting patients, families, and visitors with the admission process.
- Collecting and verifying personal, medical, and insurance information from patients or their representatives.
- Explaining the policies, procedures, and services of the nursing home to patients and families.
- Coordinating with medical, nursing, and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement and payment arrangements.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records of admissions, discharges, transfers, and referrals.
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the nursing home and attract new patients.
- Resolving any issues or complaints related to admissions or patient satisfaction.
- Provide administrative support to the admissions department
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Handle inquiries and provide information to patients and their families
- Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Previous experience in a long term care setting a must
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using office equipment, such as phone systems and computers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
