JOB SUMMARY:
GIS Technician will use GPS and mobile devices to map water utility assets and enter map data into a geographic information system. GIS Technician assists with managing data layers, performing GPS fieldwork, and creating maps and other relevant GIS content.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Use GPS and mobile devices to map water utility assets and enter map data into a geographic information system.
- May be assigned a wide variety of other assignments based on the needs of the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must be 18 years or older.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic GIS knowledge and experience using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online.
- Basic knowledge of mapping using GIS technology
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work is performed primarily outdoors, with some indoor work, in various locations.
