The Pickleball Supervisor assists in managing overall operations at Club Pickle & Padel and assigned outdoor court areas. The position is facility operational oversight, and programming and administrative in nature, reporting to the General Manager of Racquet Sports. The position will be responsible with assistance in the coordination and launch of operations for the grand opening of a new pickleball and padel facility!
Essential Job Duties
- Acts as manager on duty at Club Pickle & Padel (CPP); responsible for facility operations in the absence of management staff (typically early mornings, evenings and weekends).
- Recruit, hire, train staff, direct and evaluate staff work performance to ensure productivity and efficiency in accordance with District policy and operational procedure; review and approve staff timecards to ensure accurate time entry.
- Properly administers the policies and procedures for opening and closing CPP and providing building support as needed; Performs opening and closing shifts, performs walk-through of building; ensures facility is in good order for daily operations.
- Initiates Emergency Action Plan (EAP) as required.
- Manages registration processes at Club Pickle & Padel.
- Maintain daily court sheet schedule for all areas of the facilities. This includes preparing, modifying and program scheduling.
- Sets membership and participation targets and works with staff to reach monthly and annual goals.
- Prepares and administers the budget for respective area.
- Coordinate and administer permanent court time system.
- Responsible for the Club Pickle & Padels’ membership program including but not limited to marketing, developing and retaining relationships and managing the accounting processes.
- Assist the General Manager of Racquet Sports with creating reports regarding all aspects of Club Pickle & Padel, including season end reports, financial reports, board and variance reports, enrollment reports and other reports as needed.
- Responsible for all Club Pickle & Padel Inventory including ordering, processing, reconciling and selling items; maintain Point of Sale items with current pricing.
- Oversee the front desk operations, including the POS and registration, as well as cash handling.
- Communicate regularly with General Manager of Racquet Sports regarding member-related projects, concerns or information relative to the coordination of all facility operations.
- Maintain up-to-date information on Club Pickle & Padel website pages; edit and input accurate session information; coordinate with the Marketing department for dissemination of news releases, flyers and other public relations and promotional materials as they relate to these areas.
- Assist customers and respond to complaints or concerns in person, over the phone and via email in a timely fashion and communicate any complaints or concerns to the General Manager of Racquet Sports while maintaining a positive attitude with facility patrons and residents.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building; maintain an organized workspace.
- Perform light office work, such as filing, copying, answering and directing phone calls and other duties as assigned.
- Attend staff, Board meetings and Park District special events as needed.
- Responds appropriately to participant and facility emergencies, including the completion of accident reports in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.
- Assist to obtain a basset and Serve Safe certification to sell alcoholic beverages at the Pro shop.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of part-time operational staff including coordinators, customer service attendants and front-desk attendants.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year (4) accredited college or university or supplemented by at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in facility management. Three to five years’ (3-5) experience in organization of racquet sports programs required and customer service-related experience required. At least one (1) years’ experience with people oversight is preferred. Experience with recreation management software is a plus.

Wage Range: $62,512.19- $71,889.01 Annually

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor office and tennis play facility and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration and flying objects.
