What are the responsibilities and job description for the Testing Center Monitor position at Park University?
Position Accountabilities
Testing Center Operations – Develop and maintain the campus center test calendar and ensure the security of exams and equipment.
Testing Procedures – Confirm student identification and sign in/sign out procedures are followed, fees are collected and deposited. Assign test station, review test procedures, provide necessary information to include college codes, test center code, etc. and assist student examinees with appropriate exams. Administer every exam in accordance with guidelines and provide end of day reports as required.
Administrative Testing Duties – Request testing supplies, as needed, and mail monies to appropriate parties. Prepare monthly status report for Education Center and notify CLEP/DSST/Pearson Vue immediately of any changes.
Training – Complete all testing certification and online training to become test proctor and attend or participate in National Testing Center Training, as required. Maintain currency with testing procedures. Support Park’s IT department with maintenance of the National Testing Center computers and update necessary software, according to procedure.
Building Security – Ensure all window and doors are shut and locked and office, classroom and restroom lights are shut off. Complete safety and security check and notify emergency services, if needed.
Faculty and Student Assistance – Aid Park faculty, staff or students, as needed.
Technical Support – Assist and serve as a backup should technical issues arise.
Availability – Meet the needs of the Campus Center after office and classroom hours have finished for the day.
Facilities – Maintain cleanliness of facilities and administrative duties, as assigned.
Pirate Patch – Set up equipment, assist students with MyPark, classroom announcements.
Student Support Services – Work with students and appropriate departments to ensure provision of needed support services, such as Academic Support, Career Development, Campus Center Staff, Military and Veteran Student Services, and more. Provide basic information to students and connect students with these resource areas by setting appointments and conducting follow up check-ins. Ensure students are aware of other services available, such as Counseling Center, Library, Computer Labs, Academic Advising, and more.
Other – Testing Center Monitor is assigned to administrative duties such as copying, scanning, answering the phone, assisting walk-ins, monitoring campus center email inbox, etc.
Position Requirements:
Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Testing monitor may not be enrolled in an undergraduate program.
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Strong computer skills are required.
Must be able to work with a diverse student and faculty population.
Must be able to multi-task and work on projects individually and as a team.
