Days of Employment: 240 days
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Promote the success of every student by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by all stakeholders.
2. Promote the success of every student by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school climate and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
3. Promote the success of every student by ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
4. Promote the success of every student by collaborating with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs and mobilizing community resources.
5. Promote the success of every student by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
6. Promote the success of every student by understanding, responding to, and influencing the political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
7. Provide professional leadership within the school, community, and education profession to improve student learning and well-being.
8. Communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
9. Report any unusual occurrence or event to the proper authorities immediately (epidemic, bomb threat, thefts, child abuse, etc.).
10. Develop and implement the school improvement plan.
11. Enforce the school’s discipline plan.
12. Administer student discipline.
13. Evaluate faculty and classified staff by accurately administering the certified and classified evaluation plans.
14. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations by interacting effectively with and demonstrating respect for the views, rights and contributions of parents, teachers and other school personnel.
15. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
16. Adhere to the professional Codes of Ethics adopted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
17. Administer health services to students as necessary including, but not limited to, the administration of medication; the operation, maintenance, or health care through the use of medical equipment; or the administration of clinical procedures.
18. Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
19. Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
20. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
21. Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
22. Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
23. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
