Parker Gas Company/RapidXchange, a leader in the propane industry, is looking for a proven safety professional to join our team and further our efforts in creating the best culture of safety in the industry. This position will be tasked with creating a culture of safety throughout the organization and leading the team in the goal of accident and injury prevention, regulatory compliance and overall safety performance. The successful candidate should be located in middle to eastern North Carolina with the ability to work a combination of onsite and remote.
Responsibilities
- Develop a culture of safety within all levels of the organization
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal DOT, OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other governmental regulatory requirements and best practices
- Analyze safety performance metrics to assist in the development, implementation and management of safety, health and security policies, procedures and training.
- Provide employees with the necessary tools, information and support to work safely
- Conduct incident investigations to determine root causes and implement procedures to prevent future occurrences
- Coordinate emergency response planning and preparedness
- Conduct routine audits to ensure safety, health and security compliance
- Work closely with workers’ compensation carrier to ensure effective management of claims
- Develop and maintain PSM program
- Oversee the accident and injury prevention recordkeeping and reporting
- Administer DOT program including, drug testing, MVR and Clearinghouse
- Work closely with all segments of the organization to collectively drive safety related initiatives and performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health preferred or combination of experience and education.
- 10 years experience in Occupation Safety and Health
- Ability to manage the safety, health and security for various sites in multiple states
- Travel up to 20-30 percent of the time
