Our Quick Coupling Division in Chetek, WI is looking for new Automatics Operator to help keep the world moving. You will operate and adjust machines to produce a variety of Parker coupling components in a safe and sustainable manner. This role will make use of basic shop mathematics and fairly complicated drawings to produce components and will be responsible making basic tool changes and assisting in set-ups.
What Is a Quick Coupling?
Parker's Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, Semiconductors, and Data Centers.
- Operate and adjust multi-spindle automatic screw machines and/or NOCAM's.
- Operate and set-up Brown & Sharpes.
- May suggest improvements for standard or special tooling to suit materials or unusual cutting conditions.
- Install chucks and collets, set bar stock feed mechanism and stops to perform operations such as face, form, turn, drill, ream, bore, tap, thread and cut off stock up to the capacity of the machines; set tooling offsets, adjust computer readings.
- Check parts produced for dimensional and finish conformance to specifications. Notify lead of any deviations. Remove and reset tooling or otherwise adjust machine as required. Assure all parts are produced with minimum burrs, if any.
- Maintain statistical process control charting.
- Perform work required from drawings, engineering specifications, layouts and other operating instructions. Recommend improvements.
- Use all standard, variable and attribute gauging to check work.
- Remove machined parts, bar ends and turnings from machines. Remove oil and separate chips from parts.
- Responsible for keeping all tooling used in their area inventoried and organized in the mini-cribs.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Serve on high performance teams as required.
- Learn to install all tooling and the set-up process.
- Assist in doing set-ups.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of machining or manufacturing experience.
- Some trade knowledge in a specialized field or process equivalent to one to three years of trades training (Preferred).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to stand for most of the shift, and lift up to 50 pounds.
