Education and Community Engagement Specialist- Full Time
Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking a Full Time Education and Community Engagement Specialist under the Alzheimer Caregiver Support Initiative.
In this role, the Education and Community Engagement Specialist provides support, information and guidance to caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementias, helping to provide a safe, comfortable and engaging environment where people with memory loss and their care partners can laugh, learn and remain socially engaged with others traveling the same journey.

Responsibilities Include:
Assist clients in assessing their information and support needs
Provide information regarding services and benefits available and, where appropriate, assist clients in accessing them
Provide education and information to those who are caring for an individual with memory loss
Schedule and coordinate education and training programs, wellness programs, joint enrichment and virtual programs
Works with local organizations to schedule and market programs
Responsible for updating social media pages and sending program updates and emails to caregivers
Oversite of the memory cafe operations
Provide caregivers with information regarding available supports in the community
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
Prior experience working with the elderly population preferred
An understanding of dementia
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to multitask and work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
At least two (2) years of appropriate work experience
