Overview
As a Field Safety Assistant for Parker and Sons, you would be responsible for ensuring that our organization maintains a safe working environment. You would work directly with our Safety Director, and assist with visiting job sites in the field, identifying hazards and implementing procedures to prevent accidents from occurring as well as helping to teach and train safety related courses.
Occupational safety, health (or related field) experience is a plus. However, this is an entry level position, which provides on-the-job training, and will provide an opportunity to grow with our company.

Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Assist in training, developing, and teaching of safety classes like Defensive Driving and New Hire safety training. This will be 20% - 40% of the time.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards in the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades. This will be approximately 60% of the time.
- Provide safety training sessions to employees, emphasizing best practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work procedures.
- Evaluate and document safety practices, procedures, and policies, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to enhance safety performance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs, policies, and initiatives to enhance overall safety culture within the organization.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings, identifying root causes, and recommending preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to safety in the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.
- Other duties as required by the Safety Director
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record with a valid driver's license.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively deliver safety training and interact with employees at all levels of the organization and help to create curriculum and facilitate that training.
- Strong attention to detail to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize inspections and training sessions.
- Ability to work well within a team, collaborating with colleagues and workers to foster a culture of safety.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades is a plus, but not required (training will be provided).
