Job Title: Payroll Coordinator
Status: Exempt 
Compensation: Salary
Schedule: Full-time; hybrid work environment, including a mix of mandatory office time scheduled weekly
Department: Payroll
Reports to: Payroll Manager

Position Summary
Under the direction of Payroll manager, the Payroll Coordinator position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for over 5000 employees; Performs all activities necessary to process payroll, including maintain related records, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management. This position works closely under the direction and supervision of the Payroll Manager to carry out all necessary financial management and fiscal control policies and activities for administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Address employee inquiries daily
  • Participating in periodic training sessions for employees and managers
  • Reviews and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
  • Participate in developing goals, objectives, and systems with the HR
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data 
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Supports implementation of company initiatives and processes. Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to PMC policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
  • Prepares periodic reports for management, finance and auditors as scheduled or upon request.
  • Communicates and enforces timekeeping guidelines to operations managers to ensure adherence to company policies and all applicable state and federal law.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

Overtime:
All non-exempt positions will receive overtime pay (when applicable).

Employee Leave:

Employee at Will:
Employment with PMC is at-will. This means that either the employee or the employer may terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause, and with or without notice, subject to applicable laws

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):
This is a non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and as such, employees in this role are entitled to receive overtime pay for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek at the rate of one and one-half times the regular hourly rate. PMC complies with all applicable federal, state, and local minimum wage and overtime laws, and compensation will be provided in accordance with these standards. Hourly rates will meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage in your work location

Qualifications


Requirements and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of progressive payroll experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Highly skilled with Excel
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Prior experience with Time keeping and Payroll Systems
  • Willing to take responsibility and act independently when necessary
  • Ability to pass PMCs background check 
  • Must participate in corporate related scheduled culture events
