Job Summary And Qualifications
Understands and demonstrates appropriate use of lifting equipment and assistive devices for patient mobility.
- Understands levels of assistance, weight bearing status.
- Demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics when assisting patients.
- Provides safe mobility following the Progressive Mobility Protocol.
- Receives assignment from nursing staff and or rehab staff daily at the start of his/her shift
- Communicates with nurse prior to mobilizing patient.
- Documents in the EMR under “mobility aide” time, activity, under the direction of the nurse caring for the patient.
- Communicates completion of activity and any concerns noted
- Enlists assistance of staff as needed
- Responds to calls for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
