Job Summary and Qualifications The Med / Surg Nurse Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit / department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies / procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives. What qualifications you will need : Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required Minimum 1 year of related clinical leadership experience required Basic Life Support (BLS) required What you will do in this role : Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, while ensuring adherence to standards of care. Demonstrate ability to manage multiples tasks and projects in a productive manner. Demonstrate interdepartmental support and teamwork through a supportive and collaborative approach. Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures, mandatory requirements, and licensure and certification requirements. Meet mutually agreed upon performance goals / objectives as listed in the Performance Management Plan. Establish orientation and annual competency criteria for staff and ensure successful completion. Demonstrate ability to identify strategic management initiatives. Respond to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff, or patient issues in a timely manner. Parkridge East Hospital is a 120 bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24 / 7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times.
