Parkview Early Learning Center Chico is hiring for the following position: Infant Teacher, Toddler Teacher & Preschool Teacher
Co teach in the classroom. The minimum requirements are: 18 years of age (unless a high school graduate or in an ROP program), and
- (Aide) Under the direct supervision of a teacher unless escorting children to the bathroom or in napping room, and
- Completion of at least 6 units or enrolled in at least 2 units per semester until the 6 units are completed. To work with infants, 3 units must be specialized in Infant/Toddler.
- To be a fully qualitied teacher you must have 12 ECE units with 3 specialized in Infant/Toddler.
- CPR/ First Aid Certified
- Able to pass FBI Background check.
- Immunizations (MMR, Tdap, and optional Flu)
- TB clearance
- Trained in mandated reporter course (Training available)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
. Support teachers in multiple classrooms as assigned with classroom activities which includes mealtimes, diaper changes and potty training, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, curriculum prep and planning, rest times, cleaning and organizing of the classroom.
· Able to observe, see, hear, and respond to children’s needs, emergencies and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on the playground, in bathrooms and common areas.
· Able to lift 30 pounds from the floor to a waist high table 10-15 times daily.
· Able to reach a child 20-30 feet away within 30 seconds without danger to the staff person’s health.
· Able to crouch to a child’s height, maintain eye-contact at the child’s level, sit on the floor, and stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of equipment.
· Able to determine cognitive, social, and physical needs of children and to communicate both in writing and verbally in the English language at a level that the parents and other staff can understand and respond.
· Able to handle the stress, tension, and exasperation that many children and parents bring daily.
· Able to embrace teamwork and strive for excellence.
· Able to be respectful and supportive of families at all levels.
· Able to communicate openly and productively.
· Able to represent Parkview Early Learning Center in a professional manner both within the facility and in the community.
· Able to abide by State of California Community Care Child Licensing Title 22 Regulation requirements.
· Able to abide by NAEYC Code of Ethics and Statement of Commitment.
