What are the responsibilities and job description for the COTA/OTA (Inpatient) position at Parkview Health?
This position is located at the Randallia campus and is part of our inpatient therapy team
Summary
Provides patient care by delivering and documenting occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Follows individualized care plans, uses therapeutic techniques to promote functional independence, and collaborates with the OT to monitor progress. Educates patients and caregivers on home programs and ensures timely, accurate documentation. Care is provided in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Education
Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Licensure/Certification
Must hold or be eligible for an Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state where services are provided. State licensure must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
CPR certification is required within the first 90 days of employment.
Licensure and certifications must be maintained according to their expiration dates.
AOTA membership is preferred.
If driving a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required.
If using a personal vehicle, proof of insurance is also required.
Experience
Work experience preferred but not required, aside from clinical experience obtained through the educational program.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with up to 100 pounds; may be required to push/pull up to 300 pounds. Must be flexible and willing to work at various locations as assigned.
