Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification:
- Must have completed a medical assistant program that meets certification eligibility requirements.
- Must be certified as one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
- CPR certification required.
- Experience:
- Medical assistant or physician office experience required.
- Referral management and scheduling experience is a bonus.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of clinical and clerical operations, service excellence, and clinical quality initiatives preferred.
- Familiarity with computers required; electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
